Good morning, Everyone, and it is a beautiful almost summer morning on the south share of Long Island. The yard is bursting in colors and the birds chatter non-stop. It’s been a while since my last coffee share. I’ve missed the routine writing and reading my friends’ entries. Pour your brew. Let’s catch up.
If we were having coffee together, I would report that my husband, Matt, and I traveled more than we ever had this spring. I loved it! We cruised the Rhine River on Viking Riverboat—a long-awaited trip. I was never interested in taking a big ship cruise among a population larger than my hometown. The riverboat carried less than 200 travelers and offered low key onboard relaxation, great food, and amazing daytime tours. I had never been on a vacation where all I had to do was pack and get myself and husband to the airport. Even though it rained every day, we were out about soaking in the history and beauty.
Within a few weeks of our return home, Matt and I traveled across the country to finally meet our new granddaughter in Bend, Oregon. It takes a full day to travel to and from Bend if the flight schedules cooperate—longer when there is a glitch. It was worth the trouble. I got to cuddle, smooch and fuss over the bundle of sweetness and cook—my daughter’s requested gift.

If we were having coffee together, I would mention (again) that the yard is bursting in color. We came home from Oregon to find the fox gloves towering over everything! Matt returned to varnishing the brightwork on the catboat. Bella Vela’s cockpit will soon sport beautiful trim and seats. The birds chatter and chirp constantly, warning each other and other creatures to keep to their boundaries. This includes Hershey, the cat, who is terrified of the blue jays and grackles swooping down at him—backyard drama.
Although my yard is coming along, my mother’s patio roses are spectacular. She refers to them by their common name and fusses, feeds, and threatens them to show off their 100 gorgeous petals. Her Sicilian methods work. The roses bloom beautifully.

If we were having coffee together, I would announce that my blog will shift it’s focused a bit. I am concentrating on bringing journal writing to school and beyond. I developed presentations and workshops and am investigating into creating a course for individuals interested in developing a journaling practice. The prompts will be the subject for my blogs posts.
Stay tuned.
Now that summer is just about here, I am curious as to what is happening in your world. Please share.
Great BIG bunches of thanks goes out to Natalie the Explorer who keeps the Weekend Coffee Share percolating.
Thanks a bunch for reading.
