Can you smell it? Could it be? Spring nears. Time to shake off winter. Just gaining an hour of extra daylight improves outlooks and attitudes.
There’s a lot happening in my world. Pour your brew. Got a cookie? Let’s catch up.
If we were having coffee together, I would report that I had attended the WIP Summit this past week. Four full virtual conference days immersed me in the craft business and partnerships. Yes, partnerships in writing! One writer cannot author books, blogs, or marketing campaigns alone. The summit offered informative webinars and coffee break rooms to meet fellow writers, which forges avenues to tackle this crazy dream. And I did the conference from home in my frumpy pants and slippers,
If we were having coffee together, I would stay on this writer’s theme for one more paragraph. Famous Seaweed Soup debuts in nine weeks and four days. Everything is humming along. Swag arrived, several school visits are scheduled, and I am adding more fans to the Facebook Famous Seaweed Soup Launch Team and the Famous Seaweed Soup mailing list. It is not too late to join these groups and reap the benefits of early peeks, events and news. Currently, I am collecting curious questions you may have about Famous Seaweed Soup. Query in the comment box.
If we were having coffee together, I would say that I am getting myself out there, meaning promoting my books live. It feels good to meet teachers, parents and kids at Author-Illustrator Nights in the schools. I also did a writer’s presentation at the Islip Arts Gallery on a Saturday afternoon. You can hear my radio interview with Gianna Volpe at WLIW-NPR right here. I feel the world is opening up where we can can meet and greet our neighbors.
If we having coffee together, I would ask if you had noticed that the links to buy my book have changed. I am exploring Bookshop.org, a non-for profit virtual bookstore. Each purchase sends financial support to indie bookstores—you know, the one with doors and bookshelves bursting with books. As a Bookshop.org affiliate, my books and (eventually) favorite reads are displayed on a page—like having my private corner in a bookstore. You can pre-order now!
If we were having coffee together, I would share with you wedding updates. We are getting close. Since this event is more of a DIY project than a neatly packaged event, my lists cover several territories, and my dining room has become the staging area. I am so grateful to have my daughters, nieces, friends, and mom helping with the details and troubleshooting whatever anticipated glitch I come up with. It’s been FUN.
That’s it for now, everyone. Enjoy the changing of the season.
Great BIG Thanks and appreciation go out to Natalie the Explorer who keeps the Weekend Coffee Share percolating.

It’s happening! Join the Famous Seaweed Soup Launch Team and never miss the announcements, events, and activities.
