October! Are you as excited for October as I am? It’s not just about the crisp weather and harvest colors of the season.
So why the glee? Is it the birthday celebrations for my sweet dino-loving grandson, my star-twin daughters, or my mark around the sun? Could it be the anticipated trip to see my daughter in Oregon and then a boat ride adventure up the Chesapeake River with my sister and brother-in-law in their new boat?
Well, all those things are great, but the thing that is causing an avalanche of lists and excitement is the upcoming launch of Becoming America’s Stories book 2, The Dreams of Singers and Sluggers.
TADA! Here is the beautiful book cover.

Penny Weber, illustrator extraordinaire, did a fabulous job.
The Dreams of Singers and Sluggers is due to launch on October 25th. A special .99¢ preorder eBook offer with start on October 10th and continue until the launch day. For a bargain price of .99¢, you get an eBook copy that instantly pops into into your eReader device on October 25th. Very cool! I’d love to know your thoughts and impressions.

There is more news!

On November 13th, I will sign books while celebrating the publication of the three Becoming America’s Stories books: The Heart of Bakers and Artists, The Dreams of Singers and Sluggers, and Becoming America’s Food Stories at the Cool Beans Coffee Shoppe next to the West Sayville Post Office from 1 to 3 pm. It is a wonderful venue. There will be book swag, simple not-too-messy crafts, and delish coffees, teas and pastries. Come on in, bring the kids, say “hi”, sip a favorite coffee or tea, and buy a book.
You can also join me on a Becoming America’s Stories Zoom Read-a-Thon featuring readings, giveaways and friendly faces. I will host a 20-30 minute reading and discussion of one of my books, once a week starting on October 13th. Each session will end with a book giveaway! I will take requests and guest readers. Interested? Click here to register and get the email reminders and Zoom link.
Have you taken that picture of you reading one of the books or both?! Email it to me (storiesserved@gmail.com) so I can put it in the Readers’ Celebration slide show for the book signing!

Sounds like a fun month. I haven’t taken a pic yet. When you first mentioned it I was under the weather so def. didn’t want to take a photo. I’ll still try to do it when we are back from vacation

With all this fun stuff coming in you must be smiling large around the clock.
I’d never even thought of a zoom style reading. What an idea!
Have you read any of the Red Wall stories?
My kids were into them when they were much younger, but the author came through our town and we went to see him and — wow — it was like a rock concert without the music. He was treated like a huge celebrity and somehow I did not realize how popular he was, but the kids and I really enjoyed his real public reading even though we had read everything he had published at the time.
I don’t know if I like or regret having public book readings available via zoom like almost everything else or love it because I would no longer have to be near the author to join.
What a world we’re building around ourselves.
I hope your events prove to be tremendously popular.
Blessings.
