Journaling is the practice of keeping a “diary”, but it is more than that. Journal writing explores personal thoughts and feelings surrounding events or everyday happenings. Journaling holds the stories that fill our lives.
Journal writing is a creative outlet. With practice, the written words paint the pictures and feel the emotions of the moments. Memories stir. Reflection reveals paths forward, solutions, and gratitude. Mindful communication rehearses on the pages. Storytelling is born.
Journal writing benefits include relief from physical and emotional health issues, increased creative expression, and improved executive functioning and self awareness.
Journal On! programs and workshops encourage daily writing practice, inspire creative thinking, and promote expressive writing. I adapted the design of my workshops for children from Kindergarten to high school. Additionally, adults have found the prompts compelling and fun.

To loosely quote Tyrion Lannister from the Games of Thrones finale: “There’s nothing in the world more powerful than a good story. Nothing can stop it. No enemy can defeat it. And who has a better story than …all of us”
