Becoming America’s Stories
Take a writer’s journey with the Becoming America’s Stories historical fiction presentation. The award winning books include The Heart of Bakers and Artists, The Dreams of Singers and Sluggers, and The Wishes of Sisters and Strangers. The stories take place in Little Italy New York’s Lower East Side, 1911, where the streets teemed with millions of immigrants vying for the American dream. While history unfolded, children grew up in the crowded tenements, creating their histories.
Follow Lily Taglia, and her family and friends as they assimilate their cultures and become part of America’s stories. Discover how the author researched and collected material to create believable and compelling stories.
