May 2022 Newsletter
Spring is springing up here on the south shore of Long Island. My husband, Matt, and I are gearing up for yard and garden projects and prepping the boats for launch. Take a seat, pour your favorite libation, and eat something while I catch you up on the News to Nosh.
April Recap
GREAT BIG thank yous go out to Jan Mauck and her Girl Scout Cadet Troop 396. They invited me to join them and their neighboring troops to a Met The Author event. We had a great Q&A and fun craft.

It is never too early to think about a summer reading list for young independent readers. I joined Vesta Giles and ten other middle grade authors in compiling an inventory of books. There are selections for those who enjoy action, adventure, sci-fi, baking, and, of course, historical fiction. Take a look. Sign up for the newsletters to stay informed on the authors’ book journeys.
I completed the April 2022 Blogging A to Z Challenge. This was my fourth round. Each day I posted a Grand Prompt to Ask Your Grand and a short response. It was an excellent exercise (admittedly stressful), met several interesting bloggers, and now have more project ideas swirling in my head.

Writerly News
I am deep into editing The Wishes of Sisters and Strangers, Book 3 in the Becoming America’s Stories series. Penny Weber, illustrator extraordinaire, is working on the cover design. I will need beta readers by June-ish. Beta readers review finished manuscripts before they’re published, providing the author with feedback from the reader’s point of view. Interested? Please email me at my new email address: atmartin@stories-served.com.
What? A new email address? Why?
I am slowly understanding and implementing the business of being a writer. One gigantic piece was buying a domain name and establishing an authenticated email address. An address should keep my emails from getting lost in Promotion and Spam folders.
Please make a note and add me to your contact list.
