As a very young child, my best friends were my cousins (children from my dad’s siblings) and I saw most of them on Sundays, holidays and almost every day in the summer. There were other second, or once removed cousins in the mix as well, but the core were the 18 from the Truglio line. I am the oldest (the one who was supposed to know better), but I had my sister Mary and two cousins, Sal and Bill, to help mastermind the mischief and play. We were and still are known as the Four Big Kids. My cousins continue to be part of my family’s fabric. We try to gather for Christmas (Grandma’s favorite holiday) and in the summer.
My theme for the 2022 AtoZ Blog Challenge is titled Grand Prompts To Ask Your Grands. Each day in April I will present a conversation starter/journal prompt to ask your parents, grandparents, aunts, older neighbors, co-workers, yourself…you get the idea. The questions are meant to forge connections between and within generations and inspire storytelling and journaling.
