Good morning, Everyone. It is hazy and hot in Ft. Pierce Florida. I am here in my mom’s condo for my niece’s wedding. Florida in the heat of summer and in a state with surging pandemic cases, is not my idea of a destination, but, you know, family. Pour your coffee. Let’s catch up.
If we were having coffee together, I will confess that since I am pressed for time and internet service, I will shamelessly copy and paste the Stories Served News to Nosh newsletter that went out last Wednesday. I apologize in advance for any repeat reads. Currently, I am traveling ten thousand feet above the earth and there are children screaming in stereo, trying to release the air pressure in their ears. The creative juices are sapped.

Whew! That was fast. August plowed forward in record speed. Summer draws to an end. As always, beach bumming took top priority, but other activities and happenings highlighted the month. Here are the August blog posts.
| Writing News The Heart of Bakers and Artists(formally Daily Bread) is officially out in the world. The new title contains targeted keywords—an important “thing” in the book sales world. I am so pleased with the cover. Rest assured that the same award-winning story lives between the covers of the new look. The transition went as smoothly as possible. The one big snag was that the Amazon reviews from Daily Bread did not transfer to The Hearts of Bakers and Artists. If you reviewed Daily Bread, you can copy it then paste it here. Thank you! Thank you!  The Heart of Bakers and Artists debuted at the Live on Main event in my hometown, Sayville, New York. It was a great night enjoying music, meeting neighbors, and signing and selling books. The Catbird Seat Art Gallery sponsored my table and continues to carry my books. The Islip Arts Council has a storefront in the Westfield South Shore Mall, Bayshore, New York. The Grand Opening of the bookstore will happen on September 1st! My books, The Heart of Bakers and Artists, Becoming America’s Food Stories, and Hug Everyone You Know are on the shelves. It is a beautiful gallery filled with art, music events, and books by local artists. ***Due to inclement weather, The Grand Opening of the bookstore was postponed for Wednesday September 8th. I am registered in the BOCES Arts in Education catalog. My creative writing workshops and author visit programs can be live or virtual. I can’t wait to meet kids and teachers who enjoy reading! I also set up a virtual store with Teachers Pay Teachers where you can download book related activities and interactive book marks. Stay tuned for Book 2 in the Becoming America’s Stories series. Expect The Dreams of Singers and Sluggers in mid-October. There is a cover! Keep an eye out for the reveal. |

Every time I try to click on the book cover I get an icon that says Amazon has it blocked. I will try to go to the site, the book looks interesting. Sometimes I can write surrounded by noise (have not published a book yet) but sometimes noise gets t he better of me. Working one room away from where my husband is watching television, not so successful. Coffee shop noise is one thing, crying children thought, that is something else.
