Mother’s Day 2020 Coffee Share

Good morning Everyone.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies. I have always believed that it is easy to birth, shelter and feed a child, but it takes a mommy to nurture an entire life, and protect and nourish a soul. A mommy is in it for the long haul, no matter how independent, big,  and gray her baby grows. I am blessed with one of the best mommies ever. My mom is the definition of strength, determination and crazy-love no-nonsense sweetness.

The virus has kept Mom in the winter condo in Florida with Dad. I miss her terribly. Her roses and cat miss her too. It is also Dad’s birthday-87 years young.  My grandmother claimed he was the best Mothers’ Day gift she ever received. It was true.

That’s it, folks. I hope you are all well and rocking those essential masks. Have the best day possible as we honor our Moms, and a good week ahead. Make it great.

Be safe. Be smart. Be well.

Big thank yous go out to Ecelic Ali for keeping the Weekend Coffee Share up and running.

  1. Happy Mother’s Day, Antoinette and Happy Birthday to your Dad.
What with all the changes going on atm, the inability to see close family and friends, the people side of things, is what most people are missing most and while zoom and phone can help, it’s not the same. Yet, not worth risking catching this thing and if you’re locked down somewhere, you have no choice.
Take care and hope your parents can get home safely soon.
    Best wishes,
    Rowena

  2. Hello Antoinette, and I hope you had a wonderful Mom’s Day. For us it was yet another strange day of being shut in when we would otherwise be out in the community somewhere enjoying a favorite meal selected by my beloved partner in family construction. We ended up ordering out from our favorite Vietnamese place and counted our selves fortunate to have one of our 3 kids to share it with. Our oldest son was off with his almost-fiancee (who we too dearly love) and the younger one is away at university, also locked down to stay safe as he studies. 2020 will certainly go down a a memorable year.
    Blessings to you and yours.

    1. Thank you,Gary, for your lovely comment. We all make do with this situation. It is more important that everyone is safe and well than getting in my hug quota.
Glad to hear you did just fine in your world as well.
