Welcome to #Weekend Coffee Share. How was your week? Do you have a your cup of coffee?
If we were having coffee together, we would definitely agree that it is that time of year to gather with people we cherish. We will celebrate the 2018 accomplishments, and look forward to 2019 life’s adventures. My house is slowly taking on a festive decor. I hauled the boxes and bags from the attic and sifted through to account for “everything”. The ornaments are packed in popcorn cans and sturdy boxes. Once again I will untangle the hooks from the pile and mutter that I should have taken them off and carefully pack them last January. It is one of those shoulds that never happens since all I can focus on in January is getting everything put away, no matter how hap-hazard my method.
Besides decorating, I need to start writing down the lists that have been swirling in my head. There are meal planning, cookie baking, gift shopping, and general to-doing lists.
I found my “ugly” sweater for upcoming holiday parties and school celebrations.
My daughters and grandchildren will all be here for the holidays. My granddaughter faced time me the other night making sure we are baking “gingies” when she arrives. We are! Despite all of the work and worry, I do take creating lasting Christmas memories seriously.
The excitement is building in Kindergarten. Staying focused has been the challenge since returning from Thanksgiving break. We have been practicing poems, songs, and expressive hand moves. Our holiday show is but ten days away.
If we were having coffee together, I would have to tell you about the latest book campaign. In the spirit of the season and hugs, I am offering a Holiday Hug Pack Giveaway to two lucky people! A Holiday Hug Pack is the merriest of gift bags for your holiday reading and writing pleasures. It contains…
* a personally signed copy of Hug Everyone You Know — the story of my first year battling breast cancer,
*a page hugger–a creative way to keep your place,
*a journal to collect your own stories
*a Handy-Dandy Hug Everyone You Know tote bag to carry your book treasures or groceries.
I am hoping this may inspire some book interest and sales. If you would like to join in, enter the Holiday Hug Pack Giveaway, fill out the signup form and share a memorable hug in the Memorable Hug field. I will compile and share the memories on Stories Served Around The Table blog.
In other book news, my televised interview on Writer’s Dream hosted by Linda Frank was posted this week. I am usually uncomfortable in front of cameras. Linda had thoughtful questions and created a comfortable conversation. It wasn’t as scary as I had anticipated.
Here is the link to Part I and Part II of the interview.
If we were having coffee together, I would announce that my short story, The Forgotten, was accepted in Story Circle Network 2018 anthology, Real Women Write: Sharing Our Stories, Sharing Our Lives. It will be published in January. I must admit that it is a great feeling to get a nod of acknowledgment for my written work. Stay tuned.
If we were having coffee together, I would tell you that I got Rod Stewart crooning Christmas favorites and I feel that I may be able to tackle the clump of lights. Once again, thank you, Eclectic Alli for managing Weekend Coffee Share.
Have a good weekend and week, Everyone. Make it great.
