What’s Going On?

I have several upcoming events for Hug Everyone You Know. This is the fun part about promoting a book. I get to do a little traveling and meet new friends along the way.

The Gaithersburg Book Festival comes up this weekend, May 19th. It is a celebration of the written word and its power to enrich the human experience.  Since  2010, the Festival has become one of the nation’s top literary events, attracting hundreds of award-winning and best-selling authors, poets and songwriters to the heart of Olde Towne Gaithersburg. This is my first book festival, so I’m very pleased to participate. Check out my article, A Storyteller and Cancer, that was published on their blog.

The Syosset Public Library is hosting the  Adult Summer Reading Club 2018 Kick-Off: Local Author Showcase. I am very excited about this event. Local authors will be talking about their books, signing books, and meeting enthusiastic readers and fellow authors.  June 5th at 7:30 pm is destined to be a great night.

I am proud to be part of the LI2Day Walk. The Long Island 2-Day Expo is the kick-off event for the LI2Day Walk on June 9th. The Expo will be held at the West Islip Fire Department on June 6th at 4 pm. The LI2Day Walk is a 13.5 mile route through scenic communities and ending at Smithpoint County Park. All of the proceeds raised stays on Long Island contributing to the needed support programs for breast cancer survivors.

That’s the scoop and schedule for the immediate future. More dates are pending, so stay tuned. I hope to see and meet old friends and new My Everyones.

Antoinette Truglio Martin is the author of Hug Everyone You Know: A Year of Community, Courage, and Cancer. The memoir is a wimpy patient’s journey through her first year of breast cancer treatment.
